Mortgage Loan Officer

The Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for helping potential home buyers choose the correct loan product as well as completing and processing the loan application. Daily interactions with customers, loan processors, and staff involved in the loan process and closing are conducted with the utmost level of customer service.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Originate self-sources loans
  • Verify that all loan documentation for pre-approval has been received, is accurate, and complete in accordance with all policies and guidelines
  • Document all communication with applicants and internal personnel on any updates, issues, concerns, or discrepancies
  • Return phone calls and inquiries from loan processor, applicant, builders, or agents, concerning status of application and/or loan documents
  • Recommends loan solutions, quotes rates and terms, and structures deal in accordance with lending guidelines and client’s requirements
  • Registers all files with individual vendors
  • Execute and review all disclosures including obtaining client signature
  • Submits complete file to processing
  • Review final numbers, closing costs, payoffs, fees, etc. and schedule the loan closing with loan processor, clients, attorney, agents, closing department, and any other person that is involved in the loan closing
  • Generate and update daily pipeline and production reports

Skills/Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, customers, and co-workers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding time management and organization skills to effectively prioritize multiple objectives and achieve volume goals
  • Must have an active NMLS License
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is preferred

Mortgage Loan Processor

The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for obtaining, preparing, and documenting loan files for submission to underwriting. Daily interactions with customers, loan officers, and staff involved in underwriting and closing are conducted with the utmost level of customer service.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Generate, evaluate, and update daily pipeline and production reports
  • Verify that all loan documentation has been received, is accurate, and complete in accordance with all policies and guidelines
  • Document all communication with applicants and internal personnel on any updates, issues, concerns, or discrepancies
  • Return phone calls and inquiries from loan officer, applicant, builders, or agents, concerning status of application and/or loan documents
  • Send requests to third party sources to independently verify personal and financial information of the borrower
  • Analyze client’s financial status, credit worthiness and property evaluation to ensure compliance with investor and regulatory requirements
  • Review and obtain any documentation that the underwriter is requesting before submitting for approval or denial.
  • Review final numbers, closing costs, payoffs, fees, etc. and schedule the loan closing with loan officer, clients, attorney, agents, closing department, and any other person that is involved in the loan closing

Closing Specialist

The Closing Specialist is responsible for all closing and post-closing processes of all loans to satisfy due diligence requirements and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and government regulations. They manage and execute all aspects of the closing process for an assigned pipeline of all loan types relative to the line of business supported.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a personal pipeline of assigned loans to ensure the loans are progressing in a necessary manner to close and disburse as scheduled
  • Order closing packages from company lenders when working the file as a Broker
  • Prepare the closing package with lender when working the file as Lender
  • Balance fees with the paralegal and lender to balance the Closing Disclosure for borrowers
  • Ensure all prior to closing disclosures and prior to funding underwriting conditions are accurate prior to authorizing disbursement
  • Review a prescribed list of closing documents for completeness and authorizing wire disbursement
  • Complete the closing and funding process on all correspondent loans, which may include internally transferring money to proper accounts, ensuring that the wire was requested
  • Deliver a prescribed list of executed closing documents to the Post Closing Department on the Lender side within 24 hours of funding
  • Receive closing packages and final documents (i.e., recorded deeds, title policies, etc.) and forwarding documents to Records and/or the Lender (Investor), if applicable by the prescribed deadline
  • Compile closed loan forms specific to correspondent channel and facilitates the shipping of required documents to the investor
  • Process and track the recording and releasing of liens and other trailing documents as required
  • Save the Closing Package into the Post Closing Folder and track the status on our mortgage software
